This is a Sanke Card that shows a captured British Sopwith Triplane [The Germans weren’t the only ones to try a Triplane]. Sopwith, who also built the excellent Sopwith Camel designed this airplane. The obverse shows a Sopwith on the ground after having been captured. Two German ground crewmen are moving the airplane. The legend on the obverse is “Erbeuteter Englischer Sopwith-Dreidecker.”
Interestingly, it features NO card number or mention of Sanke on the obverse. We only see mention of his firm’s name on the reverse. No writing appears on the reverse. The card is in excellent condition.
