Herzog Albrecht of Württemberg, in addition to being the heir to Württemberg’s throne, was a top notch commander in the German Army. He held the rank of Generalfeldmarschall. He never sat on the throne as König Wilhelm II abdicated in November 1918, along with all of the other heads of the German states. Herzog Albrecht is in uniform. This was mailed as a Feldpostkarte in August 1915.
