IRON CROSS – 1914 – 1ST CLASS – SLIGHTLY VAULTED.
This is a lovely, privately-purchased 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. It is very slightly vaulted. The obverse’s paint rates at about 98%. No real paint loss is apparent, just some minor facing in the areas typical of a hundred-year-old Iron Cross. The beading on the frame is very even. Its patina is especially topnotch. A sturdy straight pin appears on the reverse. A square appears in the middle of the cross’s reverse. It is magnetic.
