This is a fascinating, framed, color lithograph of King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia. He followed Friedrich Wilhelm III, then was later replaced by Wilhelm I when he suffered mental problems. The lithograph was produced by a Berlin firm. The framed item measures 17 3/4″ x 12 3/4.” It is possible that this example and the one listed above were used as plates in a book, or perhaps they were produced individually. I estimate that both were produced, then framed around 1900 to 1910. The frames certainly are old, but not so old as to hail from Friedrich Wilhelm IV’s time.
